CCSD Strategic Innovation Fund Program

Small Intentional Moves with BIG impacts

Clarke County School District recognizes that innovation that impacts student achievement may require financial support. CCSD Charter Innovation Funds are therefore made available through the Innovation Fund Grant program to support the implementation of schools’ growth plans. Each Local School Governance Team is invited to apply for funds to assist with the development and implementation of initiatives that align with the priorities outlined in the school growth plan.

Applications requesting funding will be accepted throughout the year. It is HIGHLY recommended that you start talking about using your funds early in the year, and apply for funding as early as possible. A submitted application undergoes a two-step, peer-review process to determine its eligibility for funding. For an application to be considered, it must be complete with all fields filled in. It typically takes 2 weeks from the time an application is received for applicants to receive feedback and decisions and for funding to be made available.

When we think about innovations, we tend to think of big ideas (technology, expensive products, impossible time commitments, etc.), but perhaps innovations are small intentional moves with BIG impacts. Your innovations should:

  • Be aligned with your School Improvement Plan

  • Be impactful with measured growth

  • Include a transformative culture shift

  • Be sustainable

  • Include strategic partnerships

  • Not reinvent the wheel

  • Be branded and strong, and have a strong vision

2023-2024 Deadlines

FY24 grant applications will be accepted on a rolling basis; however, no applications will be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on April 19, 2024. Requisitions must be entered by April 26, 2024.

Applications should be submitted by Principals or Co-Chairs via SurveyMonkey Apply here. Co-chairs must provide electronic support through the application platform. The grant review committee will review proposals and may request a conference call with principals or LSGT members to answer follow-up questions.

Per CCSD's purchasing policy, grant funds cannot be used to purchase gift cards, snacks, or prizes for students. If your grant application lists these items, it will be denied. Meals are an allowable cost, but it must be a working meeting. All attendees must sign in and an agenda must be provided. Each bookkeeper can assist with the proper entry for recordkeeping. Your funds should be used only for items approved in your grant; however, a request can be made to amend your project if new items are needed.

APPROVED FUNDS MUST BE SPENT BY THE END OF MAY OF EACH YEAR. FUNDS MUST BE USED IN COMPLIANCE WITH CCSD POLICIES INCLUDING ALL REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINES SET BY THE CCSD FINANCE DEPARTMENT.
